DC's Purveyor of Global Foods.

Hi there. I'm Dani. Thank you for visiting the blog. I am Founder and CEO of Mapp'd - a new global foods brand based in Washington, DC.
I founded Mapp'd to share my passion for food and travel with my friends, family, and neighbors. I also founded this company to share insights, tips, tricks, and recipes with you through this blog. If you have a curiosity for new experiences and are looking for inspiration to spice up your home cooking, look no further... you found the right spot.
A bit about me, I am a Scranton, Pennsylvania native (yes, the home of the office!), an avid traveler, dancer, and home cook. I dance with Soka Tribe, a Caribbean dance and workout company in my free time, and live in a tiny apartment (with a tinier kitchen) in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of the city. Here, I share said tiny apartment with my lovely boyfriend... a New England local who is a stellar cook in his own right.
Why global?
Before settling in DC, I spent the better part of my 20's traveling the world - living with locals in Samoa, Fiji, China, and the United Kingdom, and bouncing around the Philippines, Ethiopia, South Africa, Austria, France, Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, and Sierra Leone, among other amazing places. I have always loved cooking, but through my travels, I developed a deep passion for discovering and utilizing ingredients and flavors from around the world. Some of the most delicious meals I've ever had incorporated ingredients and cooking methods I never knew existed... hello Rotuman taroro (to be discussed at a later date!)
